Getting to Walk+Roll CLEVELAND

Getting to University Circle and the Cultural Gardens is easy from any part of town! And since our event is all about sustainable living, we encourage you to leave your car at home and come via bike, rapid, or bus. That way, you can start your Walk+Roll adventure right outside your own front door!

Ride a Bike

The Lakefront Bikeway crosses at the northern end of Walk+Roll. You can easily ride from places like Lakewood, downtown Cleveland, Bratenahl, Collinwood and Euclid. It's closer than you think and you will be glad you have a bike when you get here.

Take The Rapid

RTAs Rapid Transit has two stops in the University Circle area. Bring your bike on the Rapid and you'll have wheels when you get to Walk+Roll! The Red Line goes from Cleveland Hopkins Airport through West Park, Lakewood, Ohio City and downtown Cleveland on its way to University Circle. It's an easy ride, so leave your car and the hassles of driving at home.

The Blue Line and Green Line go from lots of neighborhoods on the east and southeast side through downtown and then up to Lake Erie. If you are on foot, transfer to the Red Line at Tower City to University Circle.

If you have your bicycle, get off at the North Coast Harbor stop by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and take the Lakefront Bikeway. You'll enjoy a great ride along the Lake Erie shore and be at Walk+Roll quicker than you would guess.

Take an RTA bus

Numerous bus routes cross through Walk + Roll on the bridges that are elevated above Rockefeller Park. Any route that uses St Clair, Superior or Euclid Avenues should get you to Walk+Roll. All RTA buses have bicycle racks on the front and can carry two bicycles. Loading your bike is easier than you think.

Drive if you must

From the west on I-90 >

Take I-90 East / Rt 2 East from downtown Cleveland approximately 3 miles. Take the MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DRive exit (Exit 177). At end of exit ramp, turn left onto MLK Jr. Drive. Parking lots will be approx .1 mile.

From the west on Rt 2 >

On Rt 2, you are driving along the shoreline of Lake Erie towards downtown. Rt 2 will merge with I-90 as you continue along the lake. Approximately 3 miles east of downtown, take the Martin Luther King Jr Drive exit (Exit 177). At the end of the ramp, turn left. Signs to the parking areas will be posted.

From the west on I-480 >

Depending on where you join I-480, take I-71 North or Rt 176 North (the Jennings Freeway) or I-77 North. All will be taking you toward downtown Cleveland. As you get to downtown, follow signs for I-90 East. Approximately 3 miles east of downtown, take the Martin Luther King Jr Drive exit (Exit 177). At the end of the ramp, turn left. Signs to the parking areas will be posted.

From the south on I-77 >

Get on I-77 North. As you get close to downtown Cleveland, follow signs for I-90 East. Approximately 3 miles east of downtown, take the Martin Luther King Jr Drive exit (Exit 177). At the end of the ramp, turn left. Signs to the parking areas will be posted.

From the south on I-71 >

Get on I-71 North. As you get close to downtown Cleveland, follow signs for I-90 East. Approximately 3 miles east of downtown, take the Martin Luther King Jr Drive exit (Exit 177). At the end of the ramp, turn left. Signs to the parking areas will be posted.

From the east on I-90 >

Get on I-90 west towards downtown Cleveland. Watch for the Eddy Rd exit which is the exit before MLK. Take the Martin Luther King Jr Dr exit (Exit 177). You are very close to two parking options. If you have your bicycles, turn right and park at the Lakefront State Park. If you do not have your own bicycles, turn left and park at Gordon Park. Signs to the parking areas will be posted.

From the east on I-480 >

Get on I-480 east. After going over the big bridge that crosses the Cuyahoga River, get on I-77 North. As you get close to downtown Cleveland, follow signs for I-90 East. Approximately 3 miles east of downtown, take the Martin Luther King Jr Drive exit (Exit 177). At the end of the ramp, turn left. Signs to the parking areas will be posted.

From the west on I-90 >

Take EXIT 165 toward WARREN RD/BUNTS RD/W 140TH ST. Stay STRAIGHT to go onto S MARGINAL DR. Turn LEFT onto WARREN RD. Turn RIGHT onto DETROIT AVE.

From the west on I-480 >

Take I-480 to I-71 North. Get off at W 150TH ST (EXIT 240). Turn LEFT onto W 150TH ST. W 150TH ST becomes WARREN RD. Turn RIGHT onto DETROIT AVE.

From the east on Rt 2 >

Take Rt 2 out of downtown Cleveland, along the Lake Erie shoreline. Rt 2 brings you right into Lakewood at Clifton Blvd. Stay on Clifton Blvd for 2-1/2 miles and you'll come to Walk+Roll Lakewood.

From the east on I-90 >

As you are on I-90, along the Lake Erie shoreline, just east of downtown Cleveland you will come to a large curve. Two lanes veer left and are I-90. Two lanes go straight and are Route 2. Follow Rt 2 which brings you right into Lakewood at Clifton Blvd. Stay on Clifton Blvd for 2-1/2 miles and you'll come to Walk+Roll Lakewood.

From the east on I-480 >

Traveling west on I-480, you will cross I-77. Just after crossing I-77, merge onto JENNINGS FWY/OH-176 N via EXIT 17A toward CLEVELAND. Stay on the Jennings Fwy and follow signs for I-90 WEST. Merge onto I-90 W via the exit on the LEFT. Take EXIT 165A toward WARREN RD. 0.2 mi Map Avoid
Stay STRAIGHT to go onto LAKEWOOD HEIGHTS BLVD. Turn RIGHT onto WARREN RD. Turn RIGHT onto DETROIT AVE.

From the south on I-77 >

Merge onto I-77 North. Merge onto I-480 W via EXIT 156 toward TOLEDO. Merge onto JENNINGS FWY/OH-176 N via EXIT 17A toward CLEVELAND. Stay on the Jennings Fwy and follow signs for I-90 WEST. Merge onto I-90 W via the exit on the LEFT. Take EXIT 165A toward WARREN RD.
Stay STRAIGHT to go onto LAKEWOOD HEIGHTS BLVD. Turn RIGHT onto WARREN RD. Turn RIGHT onto DETROIT AVE.

From the south on I-71 >

From I-71 North, take the W 150TH ST (EXIT 240). Turn LEFT onto W 150TH ST. W 150TH ST becomes WARREN RD. Turn RIGHT onto DETROIT AVE.

Take Lolly the Trolley >

Park at Rockport Square and take Lolly the Trolley. Rockport Square is a new community development along Detroit Rd, just west of W117 St. There's lots of parking, so you can leave your car, tour the new homes and take a joyful ride to Walk+Roll Lakewood.
